Anya Wyers
EDITOR
Specializes in copy and line editing with broad strokes for overall correctness of grammar, punctuation, errors, consistency in use, format, spelling, and citations.
Genres: nonfiction including memoir, self-help, fitness/healthy living, gratitude, journals, and a guide to self-publishing; fiction including children’s books, YA fantasy, dramatic thriller, historical romance/horror, and short stories.
Anya has been a freelance editor since completing the Editing Certificate Program at Simon Fraser University in early 2023. She has edited several multi-author anthologies, which include stories about motherhood and midlife identities of women. For every edit, Anya prepares a written memoranda summarizing her opinion and a style guide and includes email correspondence and the option for phone or video calls to discuss the suggested changes.
A former paralegal and writer herself, Anya attended the Writer’s Studio Creative Writing Program at SFU in 2019 and self-published her memoir in 2019, an experience that brought her first interaction with an editor. “My goal is to be what my editor for my memoir was to me—a guide, helping me bring my story to life in its best form possible.” She has also written multiple yet-to-be published novels—romantic comedy, women’s fiction, and a psychological thriller—and is eager to edit manuscripts in those genres too.
